- Thursday Went to the Goth Meetup at Mercury Cafe. About 25 people attended. We sipped coffee, chatted, & exchanged some fliers and stuff. It was actually quite fun. They remind me of the Old
chigoth/Blackplanet coffeemeets we used to have years ago.Afterward, a couple of carloads of us went to see the movie Nick Cave wrote & produced called The Proposition. The movie was very much
in tune with Nick Cave's music, particularly in the "strong grisely violence" and the fucked up characters, which you empathize with more than the supposed "good guys." -Friday, I just got home in
time to change and sprint down to the Daley Plaza for this month's Critical Mass. It was one of the best attended and most leisurely mass rides I've been on. The ride went past UIC, through Pilsen
and ended up on 35th & Damen. We rode through mostly residental areas. All the little kids were so excited to see so many (weird)bicycles. People waved to us from their windows. It had a real
nice sense of the small Chicago community that's lacking in the gentrified Trixie infested yuppie hives of Lincoln Park & Lakeview. I would say there were probably 1200-1500
bicyclists.-Saturday, was of course, Nocturna. I danced my ass off all night. I didn't socialize too much. I drank the *worst* Long Island Ice Tea ever concocted. Vomit would have tasted
better.Btw, Nocturna comes of age this year. The *18th* anniversary party of Nocturna will be featuring Diary of Dreams!!!. I cannot fucking wait to see them in the Metro. It's going to be such an
awesome show. Nocturna is also the only official after-party of the Nine Inch Nails/Bauhaus show in chicago. Three great bands in one night. I'm going to have to prepare for this one.-Sunday tried
to recupperate from the poision, was recruited by my family to move a refrigerator, fix a phone and a computer.-Monday. took SLS to the airport and rested with my cat most of the day.the end.jv
